Samsung has officially unveiled its first-ever tri-fold smartphone, the Galaxy Z TriFold — a device that pushes mobile innovation to a completely new level. After months of leaks and prototype teasers, the final product is here, and it’s easily Samsung’s most ambitious foldable yet.
For a brand with over 16 foldable devices in its portfolio, this one stands out. Bigger screen. Smarter software. Stronger hinges. More power. More productivity.
A New Shape for Smartphones
The Galaxy Z TriFold uses dual titanium hinges that fold the large inner display inward — fully protecting it when closed. Unlike Huawei’s tri-fold models, Samsung has redesigned the concept:
- The cover display sits on the back,
- And the two sides fold into the center, shielding the main screen completely.
This is the first time Samsung has executed a full three-panel fold, and the engineering looks remarkable.
A Massive 10-Inch Display
When opened, the Z TriFold becomes a 10-inch tablet-like device with:
- 2160 × 1584 resolution
- 1–120Hz adaptive refresh rate
- 1600 nits peak brightness
- Pre-installed protective film
- A small punch-hole 10MP selfie camera
It’s the biggest display ever fitted on a Galaxy foldable — ideal for multitasking, entertainment, and productivity.

A Proper Cover Screen Too
Fold it down, and you get a 6.5-inch cover screen with:
- 2520 × 1080 resolution
- 1–120Hz refresh rate
- 21:9 aspect ratio
- 2600 nits peak brightness
- Corning Gorilla Glass Ceramic 2
- Another 10MP selfie camera
This means you can use the Z TriFold like a normal smartphone when closed.
Multitasking Like Never Before
Running One UI 8 on Android 16, the Z TriFold transforms into a true productivity machine.
You can:
- Run three full-sized apps side by side
- Drag and drop content easily
- Work on a large canvas without feeling cramped
Even better — it’s the first Samsung phone with standalone Samsung DeX, accessible straight from Quick Settings. Add a keyboard and mouse, and it becomes a portable workstation.
Premium Build, Slim Body
Despite its complexity, Samsung kept the device sleek with:
- Advanced Armor Aluminum frame
- Just 3.9mm thin at its slimmest point
- 309g weight
- IP48 dust and water protection
- Folded dimensions: 159.2 × 75 × 12.9 mm
This is the most refined hardware Samsung has built for a foldable.

Flagship Power & Cameras
Inside, the Z TriFold runs the Snapdragon 8 Elite for Galaxy, paired with:
- 16GB RAM
- 512GB or 1TB storage
The camera system is borrowed from the Z Fold7:
- 200MP main camera (ISOCELL HP2)
- 10MP 3x telephoto
- 12MP ultrawide
Impressive for a device that folds three ways.
